I once again read a friend’s blog, Amor de la Corazon. It talks about being the center of the universe. It probably speaks to a different level than I have subscribed to but here is my assessment.
I love the idea that I am the center of the universe. Not simply because I want it to be “all about me.” It’s way beyond that. It is truly about being important to myself, important enough to see the beauty that lies within my being.
I don’t need wear a mask like the guy from “The Bachelorette” in order to see the important, beautiful me. That was a gimmick. I do however, need to be reminded now and then to release the self critic who knocks me over the head sometimes, the critic who concerns herself with the image that we are bombarded with by advertising, film, TV, and society. I need that critic to see stop seeing wrinkles as the scourge or age spots as ugly. I need that critic to see beyond image and relax with the person. I forget sometimes and get caught up in expectation.
After reading the article about being the center of the universe I think it’s time today to smile in the mirror, hug myself, and greet the day with joy and delight.
